Hotel Montgomery

The Hotel Montgomery is San Jose's oldest, yet most modern hotel. Originally constructed by the legendary developer and prominent local businessman TS Montgomery in 1911, the Hotel Montgomery was San Jose's first truly "modern" hotel in the downtown area.

The classic revival style structure originally featured 142 rooms, a restaurant, a ballroom, and two dining rooms. The U Shape building has 6 balconies with balustrades and brick colored pergola on the buildings handsome façade making Hotel Montgomery truly unique for a hotel in San Jose, CA.

The Montgomery is considered historically significant, because of its early concrete reinforced constructions, architectural style, and ties to important people in San Jose California's history. It is eligible for the National Register of Historical Places, and is on the California Register of Historical Places.

Today the 86 room Hotel Montgomery is a treasure of San Jose that was considered cutting edge when it opened in 1911, and with it's rebirth in 2004 has once again established itself as a bastion of taste, comfort, innovation and style for San Jose hotels. Today's "techie traveler" will be quite content to discover the Hotel Montgomery, a chic and contemporary environment, where they can tap on their laptop or mingle with fellow business travelers in style.

Located in the heart of downtown San Jose, the Hotel Montgomery is easily accessible to all major freeways and its just steps away from public transportation making it the perfect starting point.
