"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." – Winston Churchill
When San José State’s first group of committed alumni returned to campus in 1873, they established an organization to foster an attachment among graduates and to the university. Since that time, the San José State University Alumni Association has played a vital role in keeping graduates connected.
Connectedness comes in many different forms, but the power of investing is possibly the most engaging. When alumni decide to invest in the Alumni Association, a statement is made to the world that they believe in our university. They believe their gift of time, money, or advocacy helps to create causative, lasting change.
There are several ways to create change at San José State through giving:
Time & Talent:
- Volunteering
- Advocacy
- Regional Student Recruitment
- Mentoring a Student
- Hiring a SJSU Graduate
Treasure:
- Student Scholarships
- Program Support
- Campus Beautification
