“An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” Martin Luther King
San José State’s advocacy network provides an organized structure for volunteers to become actively involved in being a voice for our students and the California State University system with local, state and federal legislators. Alumni and friends who wish to advocate for the university can stay apprised of relevant legislative issues and challenges facing higher education by visiting the SJSU Action Center. You can play a critical role in increasing public awareness of the value that we bring to the region, the state and the nation, and in persuading legislators to continue to make higher education a priority.
How you can help
- Stay informed by indicating that you would like to receive e-mail messages on legislative issues impacting the university. Learn more
- Assist our efforts by communicating with legislators either by letter, e-mail, phone calls and personal visits through the SJSU Action Center.
- Participate in the annual Alumni Legislative Day in Sacramento during spring semester.
