There is no better place for an SJSU fan than Spartan Stadium on an autumn Saturday evening. Cheer on the Spartans as they play Idaho. Tickets are available now, including a great 4-Pack. Purchased in advance for $80 or $100 at the gate, the 4-Pack comes with four tickets, four sodas, four hot dogs and popcorn. It's perfect for a family or group! But don't wait until evening to head out to the stadium. We've got lots of activity planned on the East Field starting at 1 p.m. Catch college football action on a giant 12-foot screen plus live music from two great local bands, The Whiskey Avengers and Funk the Band. It's a great place to gather and share Spartan Pride with friends before the game. |

One of the great Homecoming events at SJSU is Fire on the Fountain! It's the bonfire and pep rally renewed. Check an out an incredible fire dancer performance, dozens of games and activities, the marching band, cheer squad, football team and announcement of the Homecoming King and Queen. Program begins at 8 p.m. and is followed by a concert. |

It's not too late to attend Classes Without Quizzes. With great sessions on investing, education, earthquake readiness plus a poetry reading, there is something for every interest. Art and Design Honors: The School of Art and Design took top honors in four recent national and international competitions. Three animation/illustration program students won recognition and professor Leslie Speer received the 2009 Industrial Designers Society of America Education Award. More info.
Fishing club winners: Glen Wyatt and Eric Andersen, members of a student fishing club, took the top prize at the National Guard FLW College Fishing Western Division Regional on the California Delta. Wyatt and Anderson won a boat worth $25,000 plus a $25,000 donation to the university. Read more.

Women's Soccer opens WAC play on win streak - The Spartans will visit Hawai'i and Sacramento State this weekend. The current five-match win streak is the longest in school history.
Burns earns WAC honors - Tanner Burns, a sophomore safety, was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Week following his effort against Cal Poly. Burns had 11 tackles, recovered a fumble, downed two punts inside the 1-yard line and intercepted a pass on the final play of the game.
Swimming and Diving begins 2009-10 season - SJSU reeled off a school-record 16 straight dual meet victories last season.
