This measures how many people are in your complete network and counts friends, friends-of-friends and friends-of-friends-of-friends.
What is a SJSU Alumni Network "member?"
A SJSU Alumni Network "member" is someone who has logged in to SJSU Alumni Network at least once and set up his or her account. You can see the latest number of SJSU Alumni Network members by clicking on the "more members" link in the "New Members" box on your home page.
What does it mean to be a "friend" in SJSU Alumni Network?
"Friend" means you have approved a connection or been approved to be connected with another individual SJSU degree holder or member of the SJSU Alumni Association. The connection allows each of you to decide to share information or communication that you do not make available to others in SJSU Alumni Network.
"Friend" does not carry the same implications it has in the world outside SJSU Alumni Network. It doesn't imply anything beyond a degree of information sharing and communication.
What are the waving people icons that appear next to a person's name?
These indicate how directly you are connected to someone in SJSU Alumni Network. One waving person means the person is your friend. Two waving people means the person is a friend-of-a-friend, and three waving people means the person's a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend.
